Sparkman Band

Welcome to the Sparkman High School Band Website, home of the Marching Senators.  Sparkman High School is located in Harvest, Alabama just outside the city of Huntsville. 

The mission of the Sparkman High School Band is to foster character development in students using music through performance as the tool to build honorable and productive citizens.

SWG Independence Competition

This Saturday the guard will travel to Independence High School in Thompson Station, Tennessee to compete in their second competition of the year.

2012 Executive Board Elections

It’s that time of year...

Time to nominate our Executive Board for the 2012-2013 SHS Band Boosters.  Nominations will be accepted through Wednesday, February 29, 2012.  Elections will be held at the March SHS Band Booster Meeting scheduled forTuesday, March 13, 2012.

Guard Wins First Competition of the Year

scgcCongratulations to the Sparkman Winter Guard for winning first place in Scholastic AA classification at the Fred J Page Field Day competition this past Saturday.  This competition win marks the first of the year after an undefeated season and Championship Title in 2011.

SIP Prattville Contest

On February 11th, the Sparkman Indoor Percussion Ensemble will travel to Prattville HS in Prattville, Alabama to compete in the Flams and Flags Winterguard and Percussion Contest.

All-State Auditions 2012

I have posted information concerning the All-State Auditions to the District One Website.  All students who are auditioning for All-State/Honor Band should read THIS ARTICLE.  Student scheduled audition times should be available on Wednesday.

All-State Results

Congratulations to all of the Sparkman High School students who auditioned for All-State yesterday. Sparkman finished the day with 21 students selected for All-State and 28 students selected for District 1 Honor Band!

Proper Instrument Cleaning Techniques

As many of you are aware, this time of year brings illness that may be spread between students as well as lingering with a student.  Studies show cleaning your instrument has a great effect on student illness and I would like to encourage students to consider the following information.
